Arkansas Razorback Football Recruit Appears To Have Been A Pretty Good Lacrosse Player Too

Connor Wilson put us on to a fairly impressive highlight video of prized Arkansas Razorbacks football signee Alex Collins. One thing...it's not a football highlight video. It's lacrosse. If the name, Alex Collins, rings a bell, it's because his mother caused quite a ruckus when he tried to sign his National Letter of Intent this week. The mother, who wanted him to sign with the U, stole his contract and split town. He would eventually sign with the Razorbacks yesterday.

Five Star ESPN running back recruit, Alex Collins, hales from South Plantation High School in Plantation, Fla, which is not known as a hotbed for lacrosse, but has grown significantly in recent years.

Collins told the Sun Sentinel back in July why he played lacrosse:

I chose to do it for a lot of reasons. You just want to be able to show that any sport is possible as long as you put your mind to it. Learning was hard at the beginning, but once you do it every day, you get better.

View a highlight video of Alex in High School. His athleticism is obvious, but what I'm really impressed with is his grace and ability to control the game. He takes faceoffs, clears the ball, switches hands, and scoops one-handed.

Apparently, after the season, he continued to play lacrosse in a local Summer league. His team went undefeated. Did we miss out on what could have been the next Jim Brown?
