Junior All-American Curtis Holmes dominated face-offs, winning 19-of-20 with a career-best nine groundballs to lead the No. 8 University of Maryland men's lacrosse team to a 12-6 victory over Hartford in the 2012 season opener at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. The opener also showcased new digs from both teams. The Terps wore new Under Armour uniforms with "Terraprint" design. The Hawks displayed wings on their Red CPX-R helmets.
