The tryouts for the Inaugural Empire State Cup are underway all over NYS. The actual event takes place in late July in Syracuse, but tryouts started this week and will be completed by the end of next week. LPG has a few game photos from the Somers tryout on Monday. Photo #1 above is Brian Prestrau out of Yorktown (#22 on shorts...making a pass), Photo #2 is Alex Corpolongo out of Somers (carrying ball dodging defender), and Photo #3 is Pelham star Matt Landis who will be at Notre Dame next year (photo of Matt being interviewed by MSG Varsity). There have been many college coaches in attendance.
There is a tryout in CNY @ Henninger HS tonight, and the Long Island tryout is tomorrow night at Half Hollow Hills HS. Next week they have more tryouts in NYC (Poly Prep), Hudson Valley (Somers), and 3 WNY tryouts.
