Warrior Rep, Ken Clausen, Signs With Colorado Mammoth

DENVER – The Colorado Mammoth announced that the team has signed five newcomers for the 2011 season, including four rookies. Ken Clausen, Jon Rae, Ben Davies and Matt Davenport have all inked deals with Colorado, as has Jarett Park, formerly of the Orlando Titans.

"The rookies are a great group of young guys that will add a lot of talent to our existing core," said Head Coach Bob Hamley.

The addition of Clausen, Rae, Davies and Davenport should help beef up the defensive line. And, with all four measuring 6'2''or taller, defensive size will also be enhanced.

Clausen was a four-time All-American at the University of Virginia where he played in every game of his collegiate career. In 2010, Clausen was co-winner of the William C. Schmeisser Award, an award given annually to the NCAA's most outstanding defenseman in men's college lacrosse.

"Clausen was a high pick by us and we are thrilled he made a commitment to live here in Denver," Hamley stated. "We look forward to watching his progression in indoor lacrosse at the NLL level."

Davies played for Simon Fraser University, the lone Canadian school in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association. He and his team qualified for the MCLA national championship tournament held last spring at Dick's Sporting Good's Park.

Park was acquired from the Orlando Titans in the dispersal draft held this past August. As a two-time member of the NLL East All-Star team, Park is expected to make an immediate impact.

"Park has proved he can play at the highest level in the NLL and we are looking forward to him bringing that experience to us," said Hamley.
