Warrior Sports announced today the signing of Matt Danowski as a Sports Marketing Representative and endorsed athlete.

Danowski brings a wealth of accolades to the Warrior team. Matt was a three time high school All American and member of the 2003 gold medal winning U19 USA Team. At the U19 World games, he earned a spot on the All World Team and was awarded MVP honors for the tournament.

While at Duke University, Danowski’s resume stands up next to some of the sport’s all time greats. He was a three time First Team All American, two time Attackman of the Year (’05, ’07), two time Player of the Year (’07, ’08) and the 2007 Tewaaraton Trophy winner.

“I am thrilled to join the elite brand in lacrosse by partnering with Warrior,” Danowski commented. “The Warrior team and I share the goals of helping the sport grow and developing the best lacrosse products, footwear and apparel.”

Matt was the 2nd overall pick in the 2008 MLL draft by the New Jersey Pride, and the 7th overall pick in the NLL draft. A two time MLL All Star, Danowski has established himself as one of the premier young attackmen today and is helping to grow the game off field through the camps and clinics he runs.

“I’ve been around the industry for a long time, and watching Matt completely dominate the sport on the field has been exciting,” said Mark Millon, Sports Marketing Director at Warrior. “Matt will assist in everything from product development to helping the sport grow through grassroots events to team sales. I’m excited to have him join the Warrior Sports family. ”

I’m pretty bummed, I would’ve liked to see him go to……… well pretty much anyone but Warrior.

I thought he’d fit in well with the business-like, true athlete sort of vibe at Nike, but I guess I was wrong.
