The high school has its own lacrosse club team which just began practicing for the upcoming spring season. The club team is not a UIL or school-recognized sport -- travel expenses and equipment comes out of pocket, and coaches work as volunteers. Still, members of the Harker Heights lacrosse team enjoy playing this unique sport.
The team is made up of students from Harker Heights, but the club can draw from students around the area. Previous team members have attended Ellison, Belton and Shoemaker High School.
The Harker Heights team is getting prepared for the season with a little help from Trilogy Lacrosse. Trilogy coach and Pro player, Mitch Belisel, demonstrates drills with new players that otherwise probably wouldn't learn in time for the season.
