Vermont Lacrosse Announces Beat The Heat Summer Shootout

Curtis Lacrosse, LLC and the University of Vermont Coaching Staff are excited to announce a new club tournament for the summer of 2014, the Beat the Heat Summer Shootout.  This event will take place just outside of Burlington, VT the weekend of July 18-20, 2014.

The Beat the Heat Summer Shootout is a team recruiting event designed to provide elite high school players with an opportunity to be evaluated by some of the top college programs in the nation. There will be 15-20 college coaches working the event as field directors, in addition to the many coaches that will attend the showcase to evaluate.

College coaches will be given great incentive to work the event, and with only 10 club teams from each group in attendance, the shootout will provide an intimate setting for players and coaches.

This event was planned after meeting with several college and club team coaches who are tired of 100-degree weather and humidity at massive recruiting events. Burlington, VT provides a cooler setting so the heat does not wear down the players. This is also an excellent vacation opportunity for the parents, club coaches, and college coaches.

This event will be limited to 10 teams per age group (2015, 2016, 2017 Graduation Years).  All showcase participants will have the opportunity to attend a clinic on Friday evening, July 18 at the University of Vermont’s Virtue Field. All Division I, II, and III coaches that are working as Field Directors will be attending the clinic.

There will be an All-Star game on Sunday, July 20 @ the University of Vermont. The college coaches working the event will pick the All-Star rosters.

College coaches interested in working the BTH Shootout should reach out to Mike Kruger at UVM as soon as possible.  He can be reached via email, Michael.Kruger@uvm.edu, or phone, 802-656-7711.  Club team invites are being sent out in the near future.  More information about the event can be found at www.curtislacrosse.com. The website will be updated frequently with information for club teams and college coaches.
