LOS ANGELES – After some final tweaks and additions, UCLA Men’s Lacrosse is set to begin its 2014 schedule, which features contests against five MCLA Coaches Poll Preseason Top 20 teams including conference rivals Chapman (No. 5) and UC Santa Barbara (No. 6).
Outside of UCLA’s Southwestern Lacrosse Conference slate, the Bruins’ schedule is highlighted by meetings with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (No. 18) and traditional Pac-12 foes California (No. 14), Stanford (No. 11), and Washington. The latter two games will be played during the 2014 Pac-12 Lacrosse Shootout, which UCLA will host for the fourth consecutive year, while UCLA’s game against Cal Poly will be played as part of a conference-wide Coaches vs. Cancer weekend.
“We have a nice mix of old rivals as well as some renewed match ups,” head coach Jacques Bagley noted. “We look forward to the challenge this schedule presents.”
The Bruins kick off the season with a pair of night games against Southern California opponents, starting at home versus Concordia-Irvine on Feb. 1st followed by an away game against the University of San Diego on Feb. 8th.
