Auburn Hills, MI | April 11, 2012 – THE RUSH (www.therush.com) will be covering three of Michigan’s’ Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) Division I teams this Thursday through Saturday, allowing for athletes, parents, friends, and fans everywhere to see in-game action on their smartphones and therush.com for free.
Michigan State University, Central Michigan University, Western Michigan University and Ohio University will play in the series of three games:
Thursday, April 12, 7:00 pm WMU @ MSU, East Lansing, MI
Friday, April 13, 7:30 pm MSU @ CMU, Mount Pleasant MI
Saturday, April 14, 7:30 pm Ohio U. @ CMU, Mount Pleasant, MI
Now, thanks to THE RUSH scoring software, which captures video highlights of athletic achievement and sends them instantly to smartphones and therush.com, fans will never-miss-a-play.
“I think using the video services provided by THE RUSH will be a really cool opportunity for our program and for fans and alumni across the country to see our program compete.” Said Scott Brakora, President of CMU Lacrosse. “Highlight packages and game film are becoming increasingly popular today in the MCLA, as well as social media use. With most of our fellow club programs in the league being funded by player dues, it is a cost effective way to get your program's name out there and show the rest of the lacrosse world what you are all about. So, to have THE RUSH come up to Mt. Pleasant and provide these services to us for free will help take our program to the next level.”
“The partnership we have with the MCLA is a great way to expand both brands, where in today’s day and age, instant news is the only way people want their news and information” states Isaiah Dahlman, Manager of Business Development, THE RUSH. “On the collegiate level, we help our partners reach fans and alumni, instantly, no matter where they are.”
Fans can sign up for the upcoming lacrosse highlights at therush.com, and to check out content from other MCLA teams and sports content. For more information on THE RUSH visit www.therush.com or contact Isaiah Dahlman (248.292.0410 | idahlman@therush.com).
About Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association
The Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) is a national organization of non-varsity college lacrosse programs with over 200 teams in two divisions. The purpose of the MCLA is to grow the men’s college game by providing a quality collegiate lacrosse experience to its members. The MCLA’s 10 affiliated conferences consist of teams in 44 states and one Canadian Province, and represent the fastest growing segment of collegiate men’s lacrosse. The MCLA provides a governing structure much like the NCAA, consisting of eligibility rules, regulation of competition, inter-conference play, All American teams, Scholastic Achievement recognition and a national tournament in both Division I and Division II. On an individual scale, the MCLA’s rules and structure promote “virtual varsity” lacrosse. On a national scale, the MCLA’s infrastructure supports a level playing field through eligibility rules and enforcement, and the use of BCAA rules of play.
