The lacrosse player's toolkit: What every laxer must have

You never know what can happen in the middle of the game. And in case you don’t have your back-up stick with you, Lacrosse Playground has pulled together a list of things every lacrosse player should carry with them at all times.

Lacrosse Player Toolkit

Tape
This is a no-brainer. Whether it be fixing a frayed or broken sidewall string or taping up a lost butt end, every laxer should carry around a roll of tape. We’re still puzzled every time we hear our teammates ask “does anyone have any tape?” Everyone should.

Knife or Scissors
A pocketknife, Leatherman, or other tool that you’ll be able to use to cut strings, leathers, or tape is essential. It’s great that you have been able to re-string your stick, but if you have a two-foot long piece of string hanging down, that’s not too helpful.

Lighter
This is perfect for fixing frayed ends of sidewall strings.

Extra string
Extra string is probably another no-brainer, but it’s always good to carry along extra string, or even an extra stringing kit, so that you are prepared if your mesh, sidewall strings, or shooting strings should become un-usable.

Pliers and Screwdriver
Keep both with you. Obviously, the screwdriver can be used for screwing in the screw should you need to switch out heads, but a pair of pliers can come in handy too. Oh, and it’s not a bad idea to keep around an extra screw or two, also.

Short tape measure or ruler
Just to make sure your stick is still legal, it might be good to throw a small tape measure into your equipment bag. Better to have it in there than feel the wrath of your team when you are called for a three-minute non-releasable for your head being too pinched.

This is our list of must-haves for every lacrosse player, but it doesn’t mean we aren’t missing anything. Is there anything you have to have with you that we left off this list? Let us know below.
