Spartans Unable To Slow Down Mocs Offense

TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 5 Florida Southern College Moccasins were too much for the University of Tampa Spartans, as Florida Southern defeated Tampa by a final score of 22-7. The seven goals are the second most scored in SSC play against the Mocs.

The victory improves FSC to 17-2 and 3-0 in the Sunshine State Conference, while UT concludes its season at 5-11 and 0-4 in SSC play.

The Moccasins came out firing from the beginning of the matchup, as they scored the first nine goals of the contest. Freshmen Amanda Rom ended the Florida Southern run, as she netted a goal with 11:31 left in the half. The two teams went into the half, with the score 15-3 in favor of the visitors.

FSC continued its hot offense in the second half as they scored four of the first five goals.

Rom led the way for the Spartans as she netted in four the game. Amanda Voges served as a facilitator as she distributed three assists, while adding two goal. Jackie Martin rounded up the Spartan scoring as she netted one on the night.

In goal Jamie Austin recorded 12 saves saves. As a team, UT caused seven turnovers and picked up 14 groundballs.
