About the ECAC Lacrosse League
One of the top-ranked conferences in Division I men’s lacrosse, the ECAC began competition in 2000 and enjoyed immediate success. A league team has advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in nine of the previous 13 years. This May, Loyola became the first ECAC program to capture a national championship and the third team to reach the semifinal round: Denver in 2011 and Massachusetts in the 2006 title game. The champion of the ECAC Lacrosse League earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The league champion is determined through a playoff tournament which includes the top four teams of the round-robin regular season schedule. The conference has produced numerous all-Americans and players who have gone on to the professional ranks.
