Scarlet Knights in Major League Lacrosse - PLAYOFFS

Friday, Aug. 24, 2012: The Major League Lacrosse Playoffs are here. Four teams - the Denver Outlaws, Chesapeake Bayhawks, Boston Cannons and Long Island Lizards - have a shot to bring home the MLL Championship from Harvard Stadium in Cambridge, Mass. The two semifinals feature one Scarlet Knight-laden matchup between the Lizards and Outlaws. Mangan and recently activated Keith Cromwell (current assistant coach) will attempt to take down the No. 1-seeded Outlaws on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 1 p.m.

Long Island used a five-game winning streak in the middle of the season to power its way into the playoffs with an 8-6 record. Denver controlled much of the season, which shows by its regular season record of 11-3. The Outlaws can thank former RU standouts Chris Mattes, Chris O’Dougherty and Justin Pennington for pitching in throughout the season.

The end result will be former Scarlet Knights playing for the league's title against the winner of the opposite semifinal (Boston/Chesapeake) on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 3 p.m. on ESPN2 and ESPN3.
