FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's lacrosse team is raising money and collecting donations this week as part of its "Battle Beards Against Cancer" fundraiser benefitting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
The Pioneers are growing out their beards this week, leading up to the Northeast Classic on Sunday, Oct. 13. Donations can be made at the men's lacrosse office inside the Pitt Center and can be given to any men's lacrosse student-athlete on campus. Those wishing to donate with a check can make it out to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Donations can also be made www.northeastclassic.org/donate.
"Anything we can do to help others, we're going to do it," said head coach Jon Basti. "This is a fun way for our team to raise money and help out a worthwhile cause."
Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow's cures through cutting-edge research.
