Raffle and T-shirt Information for VMI Wounded Warrior Game Announced

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Sunday, April 14 will be a special day at Drill Field #2, located on North Post at the Virginia Military Institute, as the Keydet lacrosse team honors the Wounded Warrior Project that day. With all proceeds going to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, raffle prizes and T-shirt sales information has been released.

Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 per ticket, or $20 for a book of five tickets. Over 20 prizes will be up for grabs from the raffle tickets, ranging from gift cards up to $250 to lacrosse sticks and clothing to a GPS and an iPad. A tent will be available between Drill Field #1 and Drill Field #2 throughout the game for fans to purchase raffle tickets.

Wounded Warrior Project T-shirts will also be for sale, with prices set at $15 per shirt. Like the raffle tickets, fans can purchase the T-shirts during the game at the tent located between Drill Field #1 and Drill Field #2.

The Project is one that is near and dear to VMI, specifically the lacrosse program. Over the last three seasons, the Keydet laxers have raised nearly $12,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, including a record-setting $4,831.73 last season.

The Wounded Warrior Project’s vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history. Its purpose is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, help injured service members aid and assist each other and provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

VMI will square off on April 14 with Mercer University at Noon on Drill Field #2. Last season, the Keydets defeated the Bears 14-4 in a game that served as VMI’s Wounded Warrior Project game for 2012.
