Has anyone else seen the new social platform for athletes – QFive.com? This new start-up out of NYC is taking the lacrosse community by storm. Some of the top players in the game, from the professional stars down to the high school ranks, have setup their athletic profiles on the site.
Last week we put out a behind the scenes look former Tewaaraton-recipient Max Seibald and his Long Island Lizards teammates during halftime. The footage came from our friends at QFive and Seibald is one of their featured players (follow Seibald on QFive by clicking here: http://www.qfive.com/invitations/6c46ddb8b8e34591461075ec0ff5b7853040041d). We have started to notice that top players and fans from around the country are creating their athletic profiles on QFive and a sharing their own media (highlights, training videos, articles, etc.) as well as general lacrosse stuff that interests them.
We think this is the perfect tool for the lacrosse community to utilize to promote the sport itself and those who play it. For high school players, instead of sending out DVD’s to a million college coaches to get recruited, create your athletic profile on QFive and easily share the link to your athletic resume. You can connect to your high school programs and clubs to show others what programs you have been a part of.
Also important to note, the QFive product is not just about the individual players and coaches but also about the programs representing themselves online, many of which already have athletes connected to their QFive page. This is a great opportunity for every school and club program (even professional clubs) to claim their page in the network, show who they are through media, and connect with their members and fans.
Other athletes on the site include Rob Pannell, JoJo Marasco, Mark Manos, Mark Matthews amongst many others. QFive happens to be for all sports, and we should probably mention that Kentucky Basketball head coach John Calipari is on the site --- look out, this is going to be huge.
Visit QFive.com to make your athletic profile, connect with your teams, and follow your favorite athletes. Their mobile app will be available towards the end of this summer and LAX Playground will be using it to promote our stories and connect with our members!
