Peter Baum to Join Major League Lacrosse's Ohio Machine in 2014

Adrenaline Lacrosse is excited to announce that Tewaaraton Trophy winner, Adrenaline Athlete and LXM PRO Peter Baum has signed with Major League Lacrosse and will play with the Ohio Machine this upcoming season. The Machine picked Baum with the #1 overall selection in the 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft, and retained his rights this offseason by keeping him on their 23-man protected roster. When asked about his thoughts on going to Ohio, Baum stated, “I could not be more excited to begin my MLL career with the Ohio Machine. They are one of the most exciting franchises in the league to me, and are a perfect fit for my desire to help spread the game to non-traditional lacrosse markets. The team has a young roster that is loaded with exciting talent, and I am really looking forward to getting into training camp and doing my best to make an immediate impact.”

Baum enjoyed a successful rookie season on the LXM PRO Tour, finishing with a tour-leading 46 points from 30 goals and 16 assists over 11 games. In addition to his new role with the Machine, Baum is looking forward to continuing to lead Adrenaline’s LXM PRO to new heights, “I thoroughly enjoyed my first season with LXM, and am so thrilled to be able to now enjoy outdoor professional lacrosse year-round, with the MLL in the summer and then LXM PRO in the fall/winter. Being a West Coast product, growing up in Oregon without a ton of lacrosse opportunity, LXM has meant so much to me to be able to give something back to some young lacrosse markets that don’t get a chance to see high level lacrosse and interact with experienced pros. The partnership with Adrenaline and the MLL also means that I can continue to be an ambassador for Adrenaline’s innovative apparel, and I am really looking forward to wearing Adrenaline socks, shooting shirts, and sideline hats in the upcoming MLL season.”

The Ohio Machine, Ohio’s Major League Lacrosse team, was founded in 2012 and begins its third season in April. The Machine plays its home games at Selby Stadium on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. Four of the Machine’s seven home games in 2014 will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network, including the team’s June 6 game against Boston and the team’s July 4 game against Chesapeake. The Machine opens the 2014 MLL regular season on April 26 at Charlotte.
