Ohio State Buckeyes Welcome Newcomers

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Nick Myers, Ohio State men's lacrosse head coach, announced the addition of 14 players to the Buckeye roster for 2012-13, including 13 freshmen. The class was slotted No. 16 by Inside Lacrosse in its annual recruiting rankings, with five players ranked in the Top 50 for their individual positions and three Top 100 players overall.

"The Class of 2016 features young men from some of the most successful high school programs in the country," Myers, entering his fifth year at the helm of the Buckeyes, said. "Many of the incoming players are coming off championship seasons. We feel strongly about the character of this class; we are confident they will make Buckeye Nation proud both on and off the field in their time here at The Ohio State University."

In all, the group hails from five states and includes three attackmen, six midfielders and five defensemen.

Three-year starter for the Cardinals ... part of MIAA championship team as a senior ... posted 24 goals and 10 assists to rank fourth on the team in scoring in 2012 ... squad was MIAA runner-up in 2011 ... recorded 25 goals and 14 assists to rank third on the team ... two-time All-Towson Times selection ... named team's unsung hero ... also played soccer ... cousin Natale Miller was a four-year letterwinner (2004-07) on the Ohio State women's lacrosse team.

Member of four-time league championship squad ... first team all-league selection as a senior in 2012 and picked up second team All-Maryland Independent Lacrosse League accolades in both 2009 and '10 ... scored 28 goals and added 16 assists, along with 23 groundballs, as a senior ... 22 goals, 14 assists and 15 groundballs as a junior and had career-best 32 goals and 18 assists in 2009 ... won 2011 Iron Man award ... also played soccer ... plans to major in biology and would like to pursue a career as an orthopedic surgeon.
