ODU's Standing, JU's Ridenour Collect @ASunWLax Weekly Honors

MACON, Ga. - Old Dominion's Ashmore Standing and Jacksonville's Kristin Ridenour led their teams to important conference victories last week and were honored as this week's Atlantic Sun Women's Lacrosse weekly honorees, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Standing was instrumental in leading the Monarchs to a victory over Detroit last week. She scored six goals and assisted on two more as ODU put itself in great position for a No. 2 seed in the upcoming A-Sun Championship at the end of the month. The six goals scored set a new career-high for the midfielder. Her eight goals came on nine shots. All of her nine shots were on target as the Monarchs secured their fifth conference win of the season. Standing added one caused turnover and one ground ball to her afternoon. She becomes the third ODU player to earn the Player of the Week honor this season.

Ridenour earns her first career A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week award after helping Jacksonville's defense stifle Kennesaw State last weekend. Ridenour led a defensive effort that only allowed three goals. She tied for the team-lead with three caused turnovers in limited minutes played. She also picked up two ground balls and added a draw control to her stat line on Saturday. The win ensured that Jacksonville will be the top-seed in the upcoming A-Sun Championship. The Dolphins also secured at least a share of the regular season title with the victory. The defense has allowed only 4.33 goals per game in conference play.
