MACON, Ga. - Old Dominion's Jessica Liberty and Kennesaw State's Allison Senft captured this week's Atlantic Sun Women's Lacrosse weekly awards, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Liberty earns her second career and second Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award of the season. She scored five goals in two games combined to pace the Monarch offense last week. To conclude a West Coast trip, Liberty notched four goals and two assists in a 12-8 victory over UC Davis. Her four goals came on only four shots for a 100 percent shooting percentage. In the following game, she converted one of two free position opportunities for her fifth goal of the week. She ranks second on the team in goals, assists and total points. Her shooting percentage was 83.3 for the week.
Senft earns her first career Defensive Player of the Week honor after coming up big in Kennesaw State's lone game of last week. She set a new career-high with 15 saves in an 11-10 victory over LIU Brooklyn. Her eight first half saves kept the Owls in the game and allowed a second half comeback for the win. She then preserved the victory in the closing seconds as Senft made a clutch save with five seconds on the clock to give Kennesaw State the 11-10 victory. Her save percentage was a season-high 60 percent and she added four ground balls on defense as well.
