EASTON, Pa. – Head coach Jim Rogalski of the Lafayette men’s lacrosse program announced the promotion of Matt Musci to Associate Head Coach on Monday afternoon.
Musci, who came to College Hill when Rogalski was hired following the 2012 season, is responsible for the offensive unit and also oversees the program’s recruiting efforts.
“It is my pleasure to announce Matt’s promotion within our coaching staff,” Rogalski said. “He is an important part of what we do here and is a true ambassador for the College and its lacrosse program.”
Prior to arriving in Easton, Musci spent the previous four seasons as the first assistant lacrosse coach at St. Leo University in St. Leo, Fla. where he was the defensive coordinator for three seasons before taking over as offensive coordinator in his final year. There, he was in charge of recruiting and travel planning in addition to helping maintain St. Leo's scholarship budget.
Musci graduated in 2007 from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology after serving as a team captain during his final two years in Philadelphia. Musci played for two seasons ('02-'04) under Rogalski during his tenure as an undergraduate assistant at Drexel.
A native of Garden City Park, N.Y., Musci was selected to the USILA North/South Senior All-Star team and was the Most Valuable Player during his senior year. He was also named the program's Most Outstanding Player in 2005. The 2006 Colonial Athletic Association Scholar Athlete was also the winner of the Randy Voight Coaches Award in 2004.
