Mountain Hawks set to host King of the Mountain Fall Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - This Sunday (Nov. 13), the Lehigh men’s lacrosse program host the fourth annual King of the Mountain Fall Classic (tournament and clinic) on Goodman Campus. Since its inception, the event has become the premier fall lacrosse event in the Lehigh Valley. This year’s field includes 32 varsity, 16 junior varsity and eight junior high programs.

The game of lacrosse has rapidly grown in the Lehigh Valley since the tournament began in 2008, with this year’s field expected to be the most competitive it has ever been. The varsity field includes many local high school teams such as Allentown Central Catholic, Easton, Emmaus and Nazareth. The tournament also features two of the premier club programs from Canada - the Evolve Elite program out of Ontario, which is run by Tracey Keluskey (Hartford All-American) and John Grant Jr. (Delaware All-American), and the Elev8 Lacrosse Program run by Geoff Snider (Denver All-American). The field also includes other club and high school teams from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Due to the talented programs in attendance, this event has become a great recruiting tool not only for the Lehigh Lacrosse staff, but also many Division I, II and III coaches across the country.

Lehighsports.com caught up with Lehigh Smith Family Head Coach Kevin Cassese to get his thoughts on the event.
