Ann Arbor, MI - Brown’s offensive juggernaut continued Sunday afternoon against Michigan, with the Bears coming away with a 22-12 win over the Wolverines at Oosterbaan Field House field behind sophomore Dylan Molloy’s (Setauket, NY) career high eight goals. 20th ranked Brown extended its record to 4-0 overall, its best start since 2004, while Michigan falls to 3-3 overall.

The 22 goals scored by the Bears are the most since a 23-5 win over Providence in 1996. Brown, who out-shot Michigan by a 68-41 margin, leads the nation in scoring with 18.5 goals per game.

Molloy, the nation’s leading scorer, who had a then career best seven goals against UMass last week, scored his eight goals on 17 shots. With five assists, Molloy tied the Brown record of 13 points, held by USILA Player of the Year Darren Lowe ‘92 against Boston College in 1991 and All-American Oliver Marti ‘93 vs. New Hampshire in 1993.

Junior attackmen Henry Blynn (Villanova, PA) and Kylor Bellistri (Potomac, MD) added to the scoring assault, each netting four goals to give Brown’s starting attack 16 goals for the afternoon. Junior middy Brendan Caputo (Westbury, NY) and senior captain Tim Jacob (Palo Alto, CA) chipped in with two goals each.

Junior Jack Kelly (West Islip, NY) registered 14 saves in goal for the Bears. Junior Will Gural (Haverford, PA) had a big day in the face-off x, winning 20 of 33 face-offs and picking up a game high nine ground balls.

The Wolverines were paced by Peter Krause with three goals and two assists, and Kyle Jackson, who added two goals. Goalie Gerald Logan had 11 saves, while allowing 20 goals.

Brown’s offense was running on all cylinders from the outset, opening up a 5-0 lead on two goals by Blynn, one by Caputo and two by Molloy in the game’s first 10 minutes

Michigan answered with goals by Kyle Jackson and Peter Krause at the end of the first quarter, and another by Jackson to open the second quarter to trail, 5-3.

Bellistri put a stop the Wolverines’ 3-0 run with a goal at 11:25 of the second quarter to give the Bears a 6-3 lead. His goal ignited a 5-0 Brown spurt that put the Bears up, 10-3, with 6:19 remaining on tally by sophomore Larken Kemp (Greenwich, CT).

After two quick Michigan goals cut the Brown lead to 10-5, Blynn scored his fourth goal and Molloy his third to give the Bears a 12-5 lead at intermission.

The Wolverines out-scored the Bears, 6-3, to make it a game and trail by just four goals, 15-11, on a goal by Brendan Caughan with 38 seconds left in the third quarter.

Molloy took over the game for the Bears and scored three goals in a 5-0 Brown run to give the Bears a 20-11 advantage at the 11:06 mark of the fourth quarter.
