MLL Charlotte Hounds To Host "U.S. Army Night"

CHARLOTTE, NC (July 6, 2012) – The Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse are proud to announce that the home game at American Legion Memorial Stadium against the Chesapeake Bayhawks on Saturday, July 7 will be “U.S. Army Night.” Hounds player Jeremy Boltus, a West Point grad and U.S. Army 2nd Lieutenant, will perform the honor of swearing 176 men and women into the U.S. Army at halftime.

“I think it is pretty special to be standing up in front of so many young people who are putting their life on the line to serve our great country,” Boltus said. “It’s not every day you meet people who are willing to sacrifice their freedoms and give up their youth in order to serve a cause greater than themselves, so for me to be the person to swear these personnel in is truly an honor.”

Prior to the game’s 7p.m. ET start time, the official game ball will be parachuted in by the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team. The Hounds, in conjunction with WEND 106.5-FM, also will be hosting a pre-game fundraiser for the USO. Volunteers will be at the game passing out mini American Flags and collecting donations for the organization’s North Carolina chapter. The team will be offering $5 tickets to those with a valid military ID. Military family and friends also will be eligible for the discount.
