“We are excited to continue our partnership with YouTube,” said MLL Commissioner David Gross. “Paired with the exclusive content on our channel, lacrosse fans all over the world will be able to enjoy some of the best games and videos we have to offer.”
The partnership with YouTube has been facilitated by The Lacrosse Network (TLN), who handles lacrosse media distribution with YouTube. TLN will provide support in the distribution and technical side of the streams. The company has been working with the production team to ensure that it can bring the highest quality streams to YouTube. TLN is also working with Google to provide an enhanced viewing experience to the users that will be unique to its network of channels, including being able to interact with commentators and interact with Google hangouts during games.
“We’re excited to continue the progression of the MLL's presence on YouTube this year,” said TLN President Samir Chaudry. “Fans of the sport worldwide will benefit from increased access to high-level live lacrosse.”
The first game to be carried on YouTube in 2014 will be Saturday, April 26, when the Florida Launch hold their first-ever game, taking on the Denver Outlaws at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, FL.
The network will feature several high profile games this season, including six games for Florida and a championship game rematch from last season, when the Charlotte Hounds head to Baltimore to face the Chesapeake Bayhawkson August 9.
YouTube will conclude its schedule with three of the four games on the final day, which include the Bayhawks and Hounds, the Rochester Rattlers at the Boston Cannons and the Florida Launch at the New York Lizards.
A host of local commentators will provide play-by-play and color commentary duties throughout the season.
The MLL’s YouTube channel is the destination for high quality Major League Lacrosse videos including game and season highlights, exclusive interviews and off the field videos. Subscribe toYouTube.com/MLL andYoutube.com/TLN for more videos.
