Maverik Launches Coaches Clinics In Dallas

Long Island City, NY, November 23, 2010 -- Everything in Texas is BIG! The inaugural Maverik Lacrosse Coaches Clinic (www.maveriklacrosse.com) on Nov. 20th in Plano, TX, which coincided with the Lone Star Shootout, was no different. Maverik's free clinic attracted a capacity crowd at the Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center and brought in coaches from all levels and from across the South. Coaches had the rare opportunity to meet with and hear presentations from an impressive lineup of elite collegiate and high school coaches brought in for the evening by Maverik's President John Gagliardi, ESPN lacrosse expert Paul Carcaterra and Maverik's V.P. of Sales Mike Springer.

"Gary DeSerrano did an unbelievable job with the running of his Lonestar Shootout and with the organization of the coaches clinic," said John Gagliardi President and founder of Maverik Lacrosse. "It was a win/win situation for everyone involved."

Coaches were treated to a presentation by New York State Championship winning coach Bill Cherry ('09 & '10) from Manhasset (NY) High School. Coach Cherry shared with everyone how he approached building Manhasset's successful youth lacrosse program and the steps he took to grow the program and build a championship winning high school program.

Coach Cherry's presentation was followed shortly there after by Dartmouth College men's head lacrosse coach Andy Towers detailed explanation of defensive slides and strategies. Rounding out the evenings informative night of informative presentations was the University of Albany men's head lacrosse coach and 2007 NCAA Division I Coach of the Year Scott Marr on how to teach players new to lacrosse the fundamental and technical aspects of a team offense.

"It was a great feeling to give back to the coaches," said John Gagliardi President and founder of Maverik Lacrosse. "There were coaches from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Maryland in attendance. We touched on a bunch of different lacrosse topics that I felt were very beneficial for everyone in attendance."
