Maverik Films director/producer Jay Jalbert again called upon the cinematographers from NFL Films and their 1,000 frame per second Phantom HD cameras to capture in stunning super slow-motion detail, the essence of dodging; deception, a quick first step and as Christmas says, "and then it is off to the races." All of Maverik's commercials in its "BE READY" campaign will air during ESPNU's coverage of the 2010 NCAA Men's Lacrosse season.
"Anyone who enjoys the finesse of lacrosse, is going to be impressed by the footage we captured of John going hard to the goal," said Jalbert. "Our vision is to take lacrosse content to the cutting edge of cinematography and in-line with how other mainstream sports are portrayed."
In the second "BE READY" commercial the cameras focus on the graceful and explosive dynamics of Christmas practicing his split dodge. These unforgettable images are fused together in a slow-motion sequence of Christmas taking his defender in one direction and cutting hard in the opposite direction while absorbing brutal stick bending checks.
"Our second commercial in the campaign gives kids a glimpse of what it takes to be a player like John Christmas," concluded John Gagliardi, founder and President of Maverik Lacrosse LLC. "It really shows you how hard he works in practice and in the gym to compete at the professional level."
