“Lacrosse is a tight knit community and its only through the support of companies like Maverik that we have been able to help grow the sport of lacrosse in the New York City public school system from 6 schools in 2005 to 30 boys and girls teams currently in the NYC PSAL,” said Mat Levine, CEO and President of CityLax.
"Mat and CityLax have done a tremendous job of growing our sport and making it accessible to kids in the inner-city," said John Gagliardi, founder and President of Maverik Lacrosse. "We are only to happy to provide equipment to kids who might not have the means to play our sport and to support CityLax fundraising events like the Shootout."
About CityLax
CityLax is a non-profit organization dedicated to growing the game of lacrosse in New York City in a public-private partnership with the Public School system and in partnerships/alliances with community-based organizations. Using a character-based strategy of program development, we are currently focused on introducing/expanding lacrosse into New York City schools and geographies that historically have had little or no access to the game and that are predominantly comprised of populations from lower income families.
