Mammoth Inks Draft Selection Jovan Miller

Denver, Colorado - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that the team has signed transition player Jovan Miller, the 47th overall selection in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, to a two-year contract, pending league approval.

Miller led his hometown Syracuse Orange to two NCAA national championships in his four-year career. The first Syracuse lacrosse African-American to be named an All-American since Jim Brown in the late 1950s, Miller received the honor twice during his career. Named an All-BIG EAST First Team honoree in both his junior and senior seasons, he tallied 46 of his 64 career points in his final two years.

“Jovan is coming off a stellar collegiate career in which he consistently showcased his tremendous athleticism and versatility,” said Mammoth President & General Manager Steve Govett

A star high school football player at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, Miller earned All-State recognition as a running back and defensive back and was recruited by several Division I programs before turning his attention to lacrosse full-time.

The Colorado Mammoth opens the 2012 season against the Minnesota Swarm on “Brian Langtry Night” on Saturday, January 14th at 7pm MST on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center.
