BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men’s lacrosse’s showdown at Navy has been moved to Friday, Mar. 30 and will air nation-wide on CBS Sports Network. Faceoff in Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is set for 7 p.m. The Mountain Hawks will be looking for their second straight win over the Midshipmen after breaking a 98-year drought last year with a thrilling 14-10 win.
Lehigh at Navy will kick off coverage of Patriot League Lacrosse on CBS Sports Network. In total, the network will televise six regular season games and the entire Patriot League Tournament. Last season, the Mountain Hawks had two nationally-televised contests - their home game vs. North Carolina and Patriot League Semifinal showdown at Bucknell.
Last Mar. 1, Lehigh responded from down 8-6 early in the third quarter by scoring six straight goals on its way to the historic victory, snapping a 26-game losing streak against the Midshipmen. Adam Johnston led the way with four goals while Dante Fantoni added five points via two goals and a career-high three assists.
The Mountain Hawks kick off their 2012 campaign at Saint Joseph’s on Feb. 11. Lehigh opens its home slate the following Saturday against local rival and #10/11 Villanova. The Mountain Hawks also host preseason top-20 squads Yale (13/18) and Bucknell (15/10) on Mar. 11 and Apr. 14, respectively.
