Providence, R.I. - There will be another Lars on the Brown coaching staff in 2015-16, with Brown men’s lacrosse coach Lars Tiffany naming Lars Keil, a former head coach at Pfeiffer University, an assistant coach for the Bears.
"The men of Brown Lacrosse are consistently challenged to be exceptional humans and to surround themselves with the same,” said Tiffany. “The addition of Lars Keil to our coaching staff certainly fulfills this. Coach Keil brings a tremendous amount of diverse lacrosse coaching experience to our program. But even greater is the unbridled energy and enthusiasm he brings to the office, the locker room and to the field."
A 2005 graduate of Springfield College, who earned a Master’s of Education degree from Endicott College in 2013, Keil was the head coach at Pfeiffer University in 2012-13, guiding the squad to a top-12 national ranking and a final record of 13-4. His squad placed second in the regular season and second in the Conference Carolinas Postseason Tournament with three players earning All-American honors.
Keil was an assistant coach at Endicott College from 2009-11 and 2013-15. During that time he helped lead the team to three league titles and four NCAA Tournament berths, while coaching 13 All-Americans. Keil assisted in all aspects of strategic planning for the program in addition to fundraising, budget, scheduling, scouting and community service duties. His team averaged over 15 goals per game in each of the last two years.
He also coaches at Bates College under former Brown head coach Peter Lasagna ‘82 in 2011-12.
