WEST POINT, N.Y. – Sophomore Erin Jollota scored a game-high four goals and junior Leah Wasserman provided a hat trick to help the Army club women’s lacrosse team to a 13-5 victory over Stony Brook’s club team on Saturday afternoon at Shea Stadium.

Along with Jollota and Wasserman, six other Black Knights found the back of the net, including senior Amanda Harrison, sophomore Sage Klemek and freshmen Taylor England, Amy Johnston, Kristen McCarty and Blake Warnock, who all scored once.

Jollota led the team with four draw controls and England and Johnston each finished with three. Sophomore Shelby Lindsay collected four ground balls to pace Army, while also causing a team-high three turnovers.

Army scored the game’s first eight goals before taking a 9-2 advantage into the halftime break. Jollota accounted for four of the Black Knights’ first six goals, including the first two markers of the contest, which came just 3:05 into the game.

McCarty scored 5:22 seconds into the second half on a free-position shot to extend Army’s lead back to eight before Stony Brook answered at the 21:22 mark to make the score 10-3. The Black Knights outscored the Seawolves, 3-2, over the final 18:05 of the game, with late markers coming from England, Klemek and Warnock.

Freshman Haley Robinette, who has five goals this season at attack, faced five shots during her first game as the team’s goalie.

Army returns to action later this afternoon to face Boston College’s club team at 3 p.m.

The 2015 season marks Army’s final year at the club level, as the program will transition to the Division I ranks for its inaugural varsity campaign in the 2015-16 academic year and will compete in the Patriot League during the 2016 season.
