Jewish Sports Review Names Sukonik First Team All-American

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After another strong season this past spring, Lehigh rising junior Carli Sukonik has been named a Collegiate Lacrosse First Team All-American by the Jewish Sports Review. This marks the second consecutive year she has earned the honor. Sukonik is one of three Patriot Leaguers recognized, joining student-athletes from schools like Stanford, UConn and Princeton on the first team.

Sukonik enjoyed a stellar sophomore season, posting 25 goals, 28 points, 56 shots and 41 shots on goal, all good for second on the team only behind recently-graduated Julie McBrien. The Second Team All-Patriot League honoree did all that in only 11 games (due to injury), finishing with multiple goals in seven of those contest.

The honor comes from the Jewish Sports Review, which is available via subscription.

Sukonik started all 11 games she played, finishing ninth in the Patriot League in goals per game with 2.27. She posted a season-high six goals against Bucknell and also had six points (five goals, one assist) in the season-opening win against Villanova.
