Jacksonville Bullies Sign Goalie Erik Miller of Team USA

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (December 16, 2011) The Jacksonville Bullies Lacrosse Team is continuing to put together their inaugural roster by signing Team USA Indoor's goalie, Erik Miller.

Miller, a Maryland native, has been a part of championship teams since the early nineties. He played for the Essex Community College Championship team in 1991, and in 1994 was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and National Goalie of the Year when Salisbury University won their first national championship.

After college, Miller spent 13 seasons in the National Lacrosse League, playing for Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington, Colorado, Philadelphia and New York. He has played 109 games while in the NLL and accumulated 1,232 saves and a 75 percent save percentage – which earned him the nickname the "Iron Curtain."

"We are very fortunate to have Erik join us this season as our starting goalie," says Head Coach Brian Duncan. "He's been a superb lacrosse player and leader and has been for many years. We feel that his experience will round out what will ultimately be a great championship team."

Miller joins fellow teammates Bobby Stockton of Jacksonville University, Thomas Compitello and Adam Rand of Stony Brook, and Scott Perri of Drexel University, who previously signed with the Bullies after the draft on Oct. 12, 2011.
