JACKSONVILLE, FLA. (December 12, 2011) The charitable organization of the Jacksonville Bullies, The Crosse Foundation, invites runners and their guests to take part in the Kicks for Sticks 5K run at 9 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 8 at the Jacksonville Landing in downtown Jacksonville.
The event is an annual fundraiser in which all proceeds are donated to the Lighthouse Lacrosse Foundation, a nonprofit agency that advances and supports the sport of lacrosse in northeast Florida and other activities that benefit the community.
“We use lacrosse to help our local youth learn about sportsmanship, teamwork and to open doors for some of our young people to receive college scholarships, and the 5K is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said foundation spokesperson Brianne Toole.
Olivia Ward, the winning contestant of Season 11 on the CBS Reality Show The Biggest Loser, along with her sister and Biggest Loser Contestant Hannah Curlee, will be on hand to greet and meet participants before and after the run.
Runners can register at any 1st Place Sports location, or by visiting the website at www.1stplacesports.com.
The Kicks for Sticks 5K begins at 9 a.m., followed by a Kicks for Sticks Fun Run at 9:05 a.m.
Jacksonville Bullies players and dancers will also attend, with food, vendors and live music provided as part of the event.
Sponsorships and vendor booths are also still available. For more information, contact 904-379-2655, e-mail briannetoole@aol.com or visit www.jaxbullies.com.
