IMG Academy’s Lacrosse Program is already adding firepower for the 2015-16 season with the enrollment of Greely, Ottawa, Canada’s Cam Badour. The 16-year-old, six-foot-four Badour verbally committed to the back-to-back defending NCAA national champions and current #1 ranked Duke University Blue Devils in July. He is among the most highly regarded prospects for the Class of 2017, ranked the #19 overall North American prospect for his class by Inside Lacrosse, and #2 from North America by 3D Rising. Badour earned his standing after being named an All-Canada Games All-Star twice, as well as a Maverik Show Time Showcase All-Star and 3D FLG All-Star. Earlier this year he was also named to Team Ontario’s U16 team representing them at the National Championship in August.
Badour is expected to arrive on campus in August 2015. In the meantime, the IMG Academy Lacrosse Program is knee deep in a challenging fall tournament schedule. The program ventured to Maryland for the Fall Lacrosse Invitational and went 5-0 to get the season started. The team returns to action this weekend at the Veteran’s Cup in Palm Coast, Fla., Nov. 8-9, followed by the UpLax Tournament in Maryland, Nov. 15-16; IMG Nationals at IMG Academy, Nov. 22-23; and the IMG Indoor Nationals in Philadelphia, Pa., Dec. 13-14. The program gets underway for spring competition in February 2015.
