HEADstrong Tour For A Cure Stops In Midwest For Chicagoland Lax Getaway

Oak Forest, IL - This September the HEADstrong Foundation will make a stop in the Midwest on their Tour For Cure. The organization will present the 2nd Annual Chicagoland Lax Getaway scheduled on Saturday September 28th-29th at Chicago Gaelic Park in Oak Forest, IL. In an effort to further their mission in the Midwest, proceeds from the event will directly support local patients and families who are financially devastated as the result of blood cancers.

The month of September is recognized as National Blood Cancer Awareness Month and though it's not the traditional lacrosse season, teams are rallying in support of the cause. The event will be open to both boys and girls lacrosse programs. Boys divisions will play on Saturday September 28th and will consist of U-13, U-15 and High school. Girls programs will play on Sunday September 29th and consist of Middle School and High school divisions. "On behalf of the HEADstrong Foundation, our family and our founder Nicholas "HEAD" Colleluori, we wish to extend not just an invitation but rather an opportunity to take the field for a higher purpose. Through the generosity and support of the lacrosse community the HEADstrong Foundation has humbly emerged as a national resource committed to improving quality of life for those affected by blood cancers. The Chicagoland Lax Getaway was created as a way for our organization to bridge the gap and engage lacrosse teams and families from the Midwest. With increased rates of occurrence we have received a significant amount of requests for assistance from families and our hope is to use the event proceeds to allocate funds to several of them. This event is not just a chance to support HEADstrong but a chance to make a significant difference in the lives of those directly and locally affected by the disease.
