CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's lacrosse team will host Team England in an international exhibition at Soldiers Field Lacrosse Stadium Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. The game, which will feature an English roster preparing for next year's FIL Men's World Championships, will be streamed live for free through GoCrimson.com.
"We are happy to welcome the English National Team to Harvard, and for the opportunity to scrimmage as it prepares for the World Championships next summer" commented Chris Wojcik '96, The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse. "We are also excited to provide a free live stream which will give our families, alumni, friends, and fans an opportunity to watch our team compete."
The game will be broadcast in HD quality featuring multiple camera angles, a live scoreboard, and play-by-play and color commentary. A direct link to the stream will be available shortly.
Team England is currently training for the 2014 FIL Men's World Championships, hosted by US Lacrosse, scheduled for July 10-19 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver. As part of its preparations, Team England will tour across New England over the course of the next week to face Dartmouth, UMass, Harvard, Boston University, Brown and Bryant beginning this Saturday, Oct. 19.
The Crimson will also be in action this weekend when it travels to West Point, N.Y., for scrimmages against Army and St. John's. Harvard will first be in action against the Black Knights at 11 a.m. and will return to the field against the Red Storm at 12:45 p.m. Army and St. John's will play at 2:30 p.m. to conclude the day.
All three scrimmages will feature four 20-minute sessions with a running clock. Weather permitting, Army will play outside at Michie Stadium with the entire event open to the public. Should weather force the event inside to Foley Athletic Center, it will be closed to the public due to safety issues.
