"We are excited to announce our 2014 schedule and eager to begin the season," Wojcik commented. "We have assembled a strong out-of-conference schedule which will test our team right away and position us to compete on a national level with some of the best programs in college lacrosse. In addition, the Ivy League will continue to be very strong and competitive. Each conference game will be a challenge, and we look forward to the opportunity to represent Harvard University in 2014."
Harvard will begin the year in Amherst against UMass (Feb. 22) before welcoming Holy Cross (Feb. 25) to Cambridge for the team's home opener. The Crimson return to the road that weekend, traveling to Albany (March 1) to face a Great Danes team which reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago and finished the season ranked 12th in both the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll and USILA Coaches Poll.
The Crimson will come back to Cambridge for a showdown with Quinnipiac (March 4) and face Georgetown (March 8) a few days later in our Nation's Capital. Ivy League play begins with a visit from Brown (March 15) before the squad makes its first of two trips to North Carolina to face the Tar Heels (March 18), an Elite Eight team from a year ago which finished the season ranked No. 5/1.
A trip back home for a date with Dartmouth (March 22) is followed by a return flight to the Old North State where the Crimson will take on defending national champion Duke (March 29). Harvard follows that with a trip to Cornell (April 5), ranked No. 3/8 at the end of last season after a trip to the Final Four.
Boston University (April 8) will make its first appearance in Cambridge in its first year as a varsity program before Harvard heads to No. 18/19 Penn. A visit from No. 14/16 Princeton will round out the Crimson's home schedule before the regular season finale at No. 7/11 Yale, another Elite Eight team from 2013.
