Get Your Shave On!
Gonzaga College High School will host a Be Brave and Shave event on Thursday, May 17. Be Brave and Shave is a community-driven and supported head shaving event that benefits the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Since the first head shave in 2009, Be Brave and Shave has “razed” more than $1 million for the Cancer Programs at Children’s National Medical Center.
Approximately 20 lacrosse players and coaches at Gonzaga are raising money to support local kids being treated with cancer at Children’s National. Currently, the team has raised more than $6,500. The big celebration will happen when the team meets the goal, and together they shave their heads. “It is truly inspirational what these high school students are doing in order to help kids with cancer,” said Martha McCollum, Director of Development, Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s National.
