CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Chris Wojcik ’96, The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Lacrosse, has announced the promotion of Adam Ghitelman from volunteer assistant coach to assistant coach.
"I am pleased to announce that Adam Ghitelman will join our program as a full-time assistant coach,” Wojcik said. “Over the course of the past year, Adam had an immediate positive impact on our players and program. He is a proven winner at every level, and he has exhibited a strong will to win as both a player and coach. I am excited to welcome him to our staff in a full-time capacity, and his promotion will benefit and motivate our team."
Ghitelman, who was a volunteer coach with the Crimson last spring, helped Harvard goalies post a combined goals-against average of 9.77, while helping the unit hold two opponents to five goals or less. Ghitelman won a national championshop with Virginia in 2011 and finished his playing career second in Virginia history in career saves (586).
"I am thrilled and honored to be given this unique opportunity at Harvard University,” Ghitelman said. “Coach Wojcik continues to redefine Harvard lacrosse by establishing the foundation for a successful lacrosse program. I am proud to be a part of this positive movement and I am looking forward to playing a significant role in Harvard's success on and off the field."
A member of the Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse, Ghitelman was named to the 2012 MLL All-Star Game and has started 11 games this season, while owning a .524 save percentage.
