Gear Review: Bownet Portable Lacrosse Goal, Crease

Bownet recently sent us a few pieces of equipment to review. We received a portable lacrosse goal and a crease. Yes, a portable crease! We took it outside to a local park to test it out. Pictures were taken with an Adroid phone.

The goal and the crease both came in canvas bags. Both had handles/straps attached making it very easy to transport anywhere. The goal's canvas is in the shape of a thin rectangle while the crease's canvas is in a circular shape. The size certainly makes it easy to store in a car among many other places such as a closet or under your bed.

First, we put the goal together. Weighing about 25 lbs, this goal is one of the lightest I've ever held. There are several pieces of long rigid metal poles used as the base and side posts of the goal. They slid easily into the sheaths of Orange vinyl.

We thought we were missing a piece for the crossbar until we eventually realized it wasn't supposed to have one.

Secondly, we pulled the crease out of the round canvas. We found this part very entertaining because we couldn't believe a regulation size crease fit into a 30"dia x 1" bag. To our bewilderment, it did! You can place this crease anywhere. It also comes with stakes if you find it necessary to prevent the crease from moving.

Here is a video of a colleague shooting on the net.

The goal is pretty flimsy especially without a crossbar so I wouldn't recommend this for official games. As you can tell from the video, a decent shot will shake the whole goal. Overall, we have found that the Bownet goal and portable crease are very useful especially for rec league, camps, youngsters or your backyard. They are lightweight and easy to assemble and break down in literally seconds. Purchase one today from Bownet.net.
