Lacrosse Playground: How would you describe your music?
Liam: I always describe our music simply as "Electronic Dancerock," but if I was to relate it to the lacrosse world, it would be more like this: picture my boy Danny Glading taking a crankshot with a disco ball into the side of an active volcano... the ground violently rumbles for a few moments before the mountain suddenly begins to spew waves of Lucky Charms cereal several hundred feet into the air. That's kinda what Voodoo Farm music is like.
LPG: Who is your biggest fan?
Liam: We have a ton of die-hard fans who come out to each of our shows and go bonkers... but I can hear my roommate blasting our album in his room right now, so I'll give that award to him. He also goes out of his way to bring a ton of beautiful vixens to each show-- and the only thing cooler than groupies, is the dude who supplies them.
LPG: Word is that Hip Hop mogul, Damon Dash, is working with you. What is his relationship with VooDoo Farm?
Liam: Yeah, Dame was the reason Sean and I dropped everything we were doing and moved to NYC a little while ago. He really believes in our talent, chemistry, and work ethic... but he's also the type of dude that really pushes you to fight for the things you want. Dame is not just into handing people things- he's going to put you to the test daily and see if you are able to come out on top. He has become a great friend and mentor to us... but at the same time, he is also our coach. We do everything in our power to let him know that we came to play- and we came to win.
LPG: Has DC metropolitan lax had any influence on your music/lifestyle?
Liam: I am the only member of Voodoo Farm that played DC lacrosse... but most people don't know that Dame was also a bit of a lax-stud back in his day. He played longpole defense and I was a short-stick d-middie. He has a few sticks at his house, so we toss the ball around sometimes and talk a little trash to each other. But we both hung up the cleats awhile ago in favor of the music industry... so I doubt you'll see me taking him to the rack anytime soon.
Look out for future underground favorites on LPG next week.
