Farwick, Orashen Secure Final @ASunWLax Weekly Awards

MACON, Ga. - Kennesaw State's Sydney Farwick and Jacksonville's Brittney Orashen collected the final Atlantic Sun Women's Lacrosse weekly honors of the 2015 season, the league office announced on Sunday.

Farwick came up huge in a must win game for Kennesaw State as she led the Owls to a 15-14 victory over Mercer. She earns her second A-Sun Player of the Week award this season as the Owls became the final team to secure a berth in the A-Sun Championship due in large part to Farwick's contributions. She scored five goals and went 3-for-3 on free position opportunities in the match. She also contributed four ground balls and three draw controls, while causing one turnover to show her all-around effort in the match. She produced six shots, all of them on goal, in the game and scored five goals off those six shots. Farwick also contributed two assists, the final one coming on the game-winning goal with 1:36 to go in the game. Kennesaw State will play Furman in the quarterfinal round of the A-Sun Championship this Wednesday in Jacksonville.

Orashen earns her third A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week award this season, the sixth of her career after guiding Jacksonville to the outright regular season title. Orashen was a defensive force once again as the Dolphins only allowed three goals by Stetson in their win. Orashen caused a team-high four turnovers and also led the team with six ground ball pick ups. She contributed four draw controls in the game, as the Dolphins completed an undefeated conference regular season with their seventh win. Jacksonville will be the top-seed in the upcoming A-Sun Championship and play in Friday's semifinal.
