ESPNU is the home of collegiate lacrosse. In 2011, the 24-hour college sports network will feature 31 regular-season matchups, 29 men’s games, two women’s games – as well eight NCAA Men’s Championship games.
The 2011 ESPNU Lacrosse Tour is a lacrosse fan fest hosted by Mike Powell, a two-time national champion at Syracuse and the only player to win the Tewaaraton Trophy twice. The tour features a lacrosse cage located outside of each stadium with two full goals, where fans can pick up a stick and shoot goals, practice tricks and even play with Powell. Highlights of the ESPNU Lacrosse Tour include:
The ESPNU Monument
A 24-foot tall, interactive monument designed in the likeness of the ESPNU logo will be on display outside each stadium.
ESPNU Mini Bus
A fully-customized mini bus that includes a DJ booth, as well as a college-themed body and face painting station at which students can choose their school colors to display their school spirit during the games.
“Game of L-A-X”
Hosted by Powell, the game of “L-A-X” is played similar to the basketball game of H-O-R-S-E. The winner receives an ESPNU lacrosse prize package provided by Warrior, and presented at halftime during one of the day’s games.
