Dirty Lax Falls One Goal Short In Finals

(Rochester, October 31) - The Dirty Lacrosse Club lost a hard-fought 5-4 decision to defending champion Wimmer Solutions in the Finals of the Hawaii Invitational Lacrosse Tournament Sunday. Dirty Lax nearly tied the game but hit the goal post with 18 seconds to play.

“It was a terrific game. Our boys played really well and ran into a hot goalie in Galloway from Syracuse,” said The Dirty Lacrosse Club President Jason Donville, who also scouts for the Knighthawks. “I was really proud of how the boys played.”

In the finals, Justin Smith notched two goals and one assist, while Connor Martin chipped in two goals and Ben Rubeor posted the other tally. Dirty Lax’s Bob Snider was again dominant on faceoffs, but Wimmer goalie John Galloway, a first-time Hawaii participant, won MVP honors.

Rochester Knighthawks Johnny Powless, Stephen Keogh and Jarrett Davis played in the team’s inaugural tournament at Kapiolani Park in Honolulu. The game featured stars of both the National Lacrosse League and Major League Lacrosse. Other notables on The Dirty Lacrosse Club were Kevin Crowley, Curtis Dickson, Kyle Rubisch, Johnny Powless and Jeremy Thompson. Wimmer’s roster included Gary Gait, Max Seibald, Mike Evans, Kyle Hartzell, Brett Queener, Anthony Kelly and Garrett Billings.
