Corbett and Taylor wrap up successful summer in Canadian summer leagues

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh rising juniors Patrick Corbett and Dan Taylor recently wrapped up highly successful summers playing indoor (box) lacrosse in their native Canada. Corbett finished the summer with 62 points for the Burlington Chiefs of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League. Meanwhile, Taylor led the Alberta Jr. League in scoring for both the regular season and playoffs as his Mountaineers advanced all the way to Game 7 of the Championship Round.

Corbett tied for 21st in the league with his 62 points behind 24 goals and 38 assists while also winning 90-of-143 faceoffs. The OLA features top-flight competition, including many National Lacrosse League players.

Taylor led the Mountaineers to within a win of their second straight championship and Minto Cup berth. He led the league with 72 points in 13 regular season games (37 goals, 35 assists) while adding 40 points (19 goals, 21 assists) in 10 postseason contests. The Mountaineers trailed 3-1 in their championship series before pulling evening, but ultimately fell short in a seventh game.

Taylor and Corbett are Lehigh's top returning scorers in 2014 after posting 50 and 26 points, respectively. Corbett earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors at the midfield while Taylor combined with David DiMaria and Dante Fantoni to form a dynamic attack that combined for 170 points.
