Liam Lilienthal

Liam Lilienthal is a 2016 Attack / Middie from New Jersey who plays for Pequannock H.S. and Jersey Thunder Elite.

I am looking for a college program that is competitive. I am looking for a program that has competition within the team for starting spots and is very up-tempo in practice as well as games. I am looking for a program that will help me grow as a person and player. I am also looking for a college program that is very close. A program that acts as a family.

I see myself as an impact player on a college team. I see myself contributing to the team both in practices and games. I am a very hardworking and smart player and I feel that those attributes can help improve the team by helping others learn and get better.

My greatest strength as a player is my understanding of the game. My lacrosse IQ is very high and I understand how to play my positions. I am good at learning new sets and adapting to them fast, I know when to slow the ball down or push transition, and I understand how to play within a system.

My greatest influence as a lacrosse player was my brother and my youth coach Alan Geissel. My brother would always push my to get better when we played in the backyard. The way he held himself on the field was a great example for me and something I adapted to my game. My youth coach is not only a close family friend but also a great mentor for me. He taught almost everything I know about lacrosse. He influenced me to practice harder and concentrate on my game and that has helped me greatly.

My lacrosse goal for 2015 is to help my teams achieve core goals that we set at the beginning of the season. I goal is to do whatever it takes to give my teammates a great experience and enjoy playing lacrosse.

My favorite professional sports team is Manchester United. I've played soccer my whole life and from an early age I started watching them. They are a great team to watch. They also have the "never say die" mentality that I have taken in to all the sports I play.

Liam’s H.S. coach Josh D. says “I am proud to be Liam's HS coach. Liam is the prototype athlete that every coach should want on their team. He is talented, tough, field-smart, a good student, has the highest moral fiber, and makes everyone else better both on and off the field. Coach's dream!”
