ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa - Sophomore attackman Joe Clark and senior defenseman Jake Snyder were named 2015 Elizabethtown men's lacrosse captains Monday by second-year head coach Drew Delaney.

"Both of these gentlemen will be great captains for us," said Delaney. "They have shown great work ethic and set a tremendous example for our program. Moreover, they have demonstrated consistency in character that has earned each the trust of their teammates."

"Jake has established himself as a capable defender and will continue to be a big part of our defense," Delaney added. "Joe has certainly made a name for himself on offense in his brief time with us."

Snyder, from Reading, Pa., has appeared in 27 games over the past two seasons, tallying 63 ground balls, 12 face-off wins, and three assists. He was a member of a defensive unit that surrendered just 8.13 goals per game in 2014.

Clark, from Hershey, Pa., was the Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year and an All-Commonwealth Conference Honorable Mention pick in 2014. He is the second player in program history to receive Rookie of the Year honors. Clark led the Blue Jays with 38 points and 19 assists during his rookie season. He was second on the team in goals with 19 and his 19 assists are tied for the eighth most in a season in school history.

The 2015 captains will work with the team's leadership council. "The leadership council consists of two representatives from each class," Delaney stated. "We established the council last year to give every class a voice and allow players peers to communicate their concerns to. It was a great resource that enabled the coaching staff to understand the pulse of the team. I look forward to working with this year's council."

The Blue Jays open their 2015 season this Wednesday at home on Wolf Field against Dickinson, with face-off set for 4 p.m. Elizabethtown's opening week also includes a home game against Oneonta on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. E-town makes its Landmark Conference debut March 14 vs. Susquehanna at 1:00 p.m.
