Providence, R.I. - Brown senior defensive middy Nick Weeden (Broad Run, VA) has been named to the 2015 USILA Scholar All-American Team. Weeded posted a 3.44 GPA as a Biology concentrator at Brown.
“Being a Scholar American is a great honor and a tremendous accomplishment,” said John Spring, the Executive Director of the USILA. “It certainly signifies the dedication and commitment these players demonstrated in the classroom and on the field.”
Weeden has been key member of the Brown team for four years, playing in all 60 games over his Brown Lacrosse career. He has played in more games than any other Brown lacrosse player in 20 years.
He and teammate Jordan Schochet ‘15 created a Biotechnology Investment Club at Brown University in 2013. Weeden also conducted research this year, doing public health research on socioeconomic status in Mexico City.
Weeden helped the Bears to the Ivy League Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in 2015, while compiling a 12-5 overall record. Playing in the defensive midfield, he scored two goals, handed out four assists and picked-up 15 ground balls.
